PANDEMIC PORTRAITS – LOCKED DOWN
"The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it unprecedented levels of uncertainty, fear, and isolation. As people around the world were forced to adapt to the "new normal", the concept of home took on a new meaning. Omotayo Tajudeen captures the essence of this new reality in his series of images titled Pandemic Portraits - Locked Down.
Through these images, we see people spending more time in their homes and within their gates, their daily routines disrupted and replaced with new activities. Some are playing board games with their families, while others are reading books or simply gazing out of their windows. The images offer a poignant reminder of the profound impact the pandemic had on our lives, forcing us to adjust to a new way of living and finding comfort in the safety of our own homes.
In this series, Omotayo Tajudeen captures the essence of what it means to be locked down, both physically and emotionally. The images reflect the sense of isolation and uncertainty that many people felt during this time, while also celebrating the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit.
